About the department

The department of Nutritional Science and Food Management at Ewha aims to undertake outstanding and innovative researches and to provide research-based education in the field of nutritional science and food management.

Our program integrates knowledge and advanced methodologies from the fundamental disciplines of biological and social sciences. We strive to produce the professionals equipped with cutting edge knowledge and research skills as well as practical field experiences at global standards, contributing to the promotion of human health and diseases prevention.

Since established in 1965, our department has produced many graduates who has been working at domestic and international institutes, including educational, research, and governmental, clinical, and industrial sections.

They are also expanding the professions to food and nutrition-related IT industries, mass media, and caterings.

Department’s Missions

Produce a professional workforce meeting international standards and in possession of research and developmental capabilities in nutritional science, food management and food culture in order to create a new paradigm within the health and nutrition management system.

Train women into global leaders at the forefront of the field of customized nutritional science and food service based on traditional Korean foods and lifestyles.

Educate an innovative professional workforce capable of actively contributing to the formulation and enactment of South Korea's food and nutrition policies.

Nurture creative talent to develop individuals who can provide solutions to problems in the nutritional science and food service sector, which will arise in the 21st century environment of information and knowledge.

Elevate core talents in the nutritional science and food service sector through maintaining networks inter-between academia, government, and research, as well as between universities.
